Our History
DLCF Alumni Association started as a collective on a WhatsApp group in 2017 after the death of one of its early Associate coordinators – Pastor Isioma Okolie. After he passed on, the brethren felt they needed to unite to support the family he left behind. Many graduates of DLCF FUTO were called together, and that’s how the group was created.
However, the group did not have any definite leadership until 2021 when it was deemed fit that the Alumni Association needed to have an executive body as leaders.
In April 2021, the first elected set of executives was sworn into office. Initially, the constitution stated that the elective position was to be for one year, but at the end of the year, it was realized that people were unwilling to show up for the executive position. The constitution was then amended to two years for executive offices, some of the executives who could not continue dropped out of office and there was a replacement. The pioneer President continued in office in the second term with some of his cabinet members until 2024 when an election was held that brought in a new president.
Our Mission
To contribute to the spiritual, academic, and professional development of DLCF FUTO through the provision of financial and infrastructural support and enhancing networking and career development among the alumni.
